Not Difficult, Just Different: 5 Steps to Exporting

The free breakfast event is part of a joint initiative between UKTI Yorkshire and Humber and Sheffield City Region Local Enterprise Partnership and aims to help grow the South Yorkshire economy by helping every business fulfil their export potential.

Three top exporters to help Sheffield firms conquer the world

It was silver and stainless steel that first established Sheffield's global brand for quality, and those businesses remain the best in the world today, but a new generation of companies from technology to professional services are helping to show that ‘Made In Sheffield' still leads the way.

That brand is still highly sought after around the globe and three of the city's leading exporters are coming together to help encourage others to take the Sheffield name overseas.

An historic cutlery and giftware maker, a global leadership consultant and a cutting edge vehicle tracking and data company will all reveal how they broke into international trade and share their tips with others looking to find growth and success on foreign shores.

The companies speaking at the event will be:

The Floow – Launched in Sheffield because this was the only city with the necessary skills, The Floow is a telematics company that tracks vehicles to analyse driver behaviour and then interprets and feeds the data back to insurers to help them cut risk and offer better deals to drivers. It works with companies around the world and is rapidly expanding due to the demand for its unique services.

Lawson Thinking – The leadership and change management consultancy is on target to double turnover after deciding to export its services to the world. Offering specialist advice to global business names, the consultancy works in Scandinavia and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Chimo Holdings – Chimo has a number of Sheffield's iconic and traditional brands and creates a wide range of cutlery and giftware using the stainless steel and silver skills handed down through the generations. Today more than 40 per cent of its products are shipped to discerning customers around the world.
