The UK has a long standing history in trading with the Gulf States. All of the Gulf States, Bahrain, UAE, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia belong to the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC), a collaborative organisation modelled on the European Economic Community when it was created in 1981.

Brian Aungiers, International Trade Advisor, UKTI  has been doing business with, visiting, living and working in the Gulf region for over 25 years.  He spent a number of years living in Saudi Arabia heading a Saudi based manufacturer and distributor of industrial safety equipment, supplying many of Saudi Arabia's largest companies and those in the surrounding GCC countries. Since joining UKTI he has taken many successful trade missions to Saudi Arabia and the GCC.

Richard Cuda, Director Strategic Banking Alliances | International, Santander will touch on business opportunities, including Expo 2020 and the Airport projects in the UAE, and Santander's support for businesses including their unique trade portal finding and linking potential businesses overseas.  

Peter Hoy, Managing Director, Macalloy and ITF Director, will share his experiences. Macalloy has been involved in a number of projects in Kuwait, Bahrain and the UAE, one of which is the current project at Abu Dhabi International Airport.

Brett Russell, Sales Manager, Cutting & Wear will provide an update on the stock point the company set up in Dubai to allow distribution in the Middle East. He will recap on market entry method, research carried out, support received, actions taken, challenges overcome as well as sharing information on the current situation and top tips. 

Lee Bolsover, Director, TransGlobal Freight Management, will join the panel to answer any questions related to transport and export documentation to the Gulf States.
